Turn Ugly Sweatpants Into Stylish Joggers
Find sweatpants that have a drawstring at the waist and are long enough in length
1
Turn your sweats inside out and put them on. Get your pins ready!
2
Pin along the inner seam of one leg, tapering it to fit your size
3
Take off the pants and lay them flat. Using chalk, draw a smooth line along your pins.
4
Take out the pins, and make sure the pants are laying completely flat. Re-pin along the chalk line
5
Pin the ankles so the pant fits snugly, but not too snug to where you can’t get in and out
6
Cut along the chalk line, leaving 1-2” allowance just in case!
7
Fold the pants in half and use the leg we just cut as a guide for the other leg. Trim and pin!
8
Using a straight stitch, sew your pants where pinned
9
Try the pants on to make sure you like the fit. Make any adjustments necessary
10
If you like the fit, trim off the excess and/or finish the seam with a serger or zig zag stitch
11
And you’re ready to style! I paired my joggers with sneakers and a leather jacket
