Two Days In Gatlinburg, TN
Start day 1 with breakfast at the Pancake Pantry in downtown Gatlinburg. My personal fav is the Chocolate Chip Pancakes.
Head into the National Park! This is the most visited National Park in the USA.
Make your way to Cades Cove but be sure to check opening hours/days. It closes for pedestrians and bikers.
The hike to Abrams Falls is off of the Cades Cove Loop Road. It’s not too hard and only takes a couple of hours.
This is your reward for a 5 mile hike! Make sure you check the weather as it changes quickly. This is the largest falls by volume in the Smokies.
If you have time take the Roaring Fork Nature Trail where you’ll find historic buildings and drive through the thick forest.
Make sure to find a place to watch the sunset. We loved our Hilton hotel for the sunset (linked) but Clingman’s Dome or Morton’s Overlook are popular.
Now go find the sunrise at Newfound Gap. There is plenty of parking but be sure to bring a coat even in the summer.
Head into Gatlinburg for breakfast at Crockett’s Breakfast Camp. Do not leave until you have the fried cinnamon roll.
Explore the charming village of downtown Gatlinburg. There are lots of cute shops to stop in.
Make sure to stop in at The Donut Friar for some incredible sweets!
For the last stop of the afternoon drive out to Clingman’s Dome. This short but steep hike leads to beautiful 360 degree views.
The hike ends at a lookout tower and this is your view. It is a popular hike and gets very crowded on nice days.
