Unlocking Your Inner Matisse: Mixed Media
Trace out a circle for the fish bowl.
1
Use a scissors and cut out the circle.
2
Submerge the circle in water.
3
Soak your flat brush in water and use watercolor to paint the circle. This is called “wet on wet”!
4
Sprinkle salt all over the watercolor circle. Put aside to dry overnight.
5
When dry, swipe salt away. You will have a speckled design.
6
Folder your paper in half vertically.
7
Divide the top half into 4 sections and paint. This will be wallpaper.
8
Paint a semi circle underneath the 4 sections. This will be the table. Let dry overnight.
9
Glue the circle in-between the wallpaper and the semi circle table. Press down firmly.
10
Glue tissue paper squares on the bottom half of your paper. Overlap the pieces.
11
Paint a design on the wallpaper sections.
12
Cut out two fishes and glue them onto the fish bowl.
13
Cut out two leaves and glue them underneath the table. Angle them how you would like. Let dry.
14
Use a black marker to draw details on the bowl, fish and leaves.
