Weave A Lattice Pie Crust
What you'll need
Rolled Out Pie Dough
Pie Dough in Pan
Pie Filling
Pastry Wheel
Plastic wrap
Use your pastry wheel to cut long thick strips of equal width
Cut thin strips of equal length to the thick strips
Make sure your longest strips reach across your pan with a little extra over the edge
Lay your first thick strip down the middle, and a shorter thick strip overtop right at the bottom
Lay 2 thin strips over the bottom strip, lay thick strip down the middle- over under over, continue
Tear off excess ends and straighten strips (you can add extra strips if there’s space)
Fold over the edge, squeezing the strips into the crust as you go
Make sure there’s no crust hanging over the edge by giving a little squeeze
Either bake immediately or wrap with plastic and freeze until it’s time!
