Ball Of Yarn
Anything You’d Like To Put In Your Weaving
1 pair of scissors
Cut a piece of yarn.
1
Lay out your sticks to form a rectangle. This will be your loom.
2
Use your yarn to begin wrapping one corner of your loom. Wrap the yarn around about five times.
3
Now wrap the yarn about five times in the other direction in order to form and “x.”
4
Cut another piece of yarn.
6
Add the next stick to your loom and begin wrapping the yarn around just like before.
7
Change directions so you make an “x,” wrapping the string around about five times in each direction.
8
Complete the same process with the fourth stick.
9
Tie the fourth corner just like the others.
10
Trim the ends of the yarn. This will be your loom.
11
Tie the end of the yarn to one of the sticks, in the corner.
12
Wrap the yarn around the loom.
13
Cut the yarn and tie a knot at the end. Now you’re ready to weave!
14
Start weaving with materials you’ve gathered. Pull the material over one string and under the next.
15
You can recycle by adding things like straws.
16
Or a dried out pen...
17
Or even an old toothbrush.
18
Try adding pieces of paper...
19
Or going back to the beginning and adding more rope. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
20
Just keep going until you like what you’ve made. Yours doesn’t have to look like mine.
21
Try weaving in different directions too.
22
Your weaving will change over time.
23
Just keep going until you like what you’ve made.
24
You will notice that one of my sticks broke. It’s okay for your weaving to have mistakes like mine.
25
Just keep weaving with the materials you have.
26
Tuck in the ends of any excess material until your project feels complete.
27
Thanks for watching!
