Run a 2x12 through a planer, but if you don’t have access to a planer use an orbital sander instead.
1
Use a circular saw to cut short pieces off the 2x12 that will serve as the legs. Cut some 4” wide strips off one of the pieces.
2
Clamp the leg pieces together, use circular saw to cut a bunch of notches to the ends of them.
3
Trim the 4” wide strips to length and cut notches in them.
4
Use orbital sander to sand pieces and apply a single coat of danish oil. Screw in small blocks.
5
Flip the bench over and screw through the little scrap blocks and into the bench top.
