Culture 101 🇻🇳 When it comes to street food in Vietnam, expect small stools and tiny tables.

❕Pro-tip❕Condiments are everything. Use the chili oil and lime. The small chilis are VERY spicy.🌶

What’s in a cup? ☕️ The milk in Vietnamese coffee is sweetened condensed milk.
Although “pho” originated in the north, the southern version of this soup is much more flavorful.
Another soup is “hu tieu,” made with thinner rice noodles. It’s similar to Thai boat noodles.
Maison Marou is Saigon’s very own chocolate factory. All chocolate in the cafe is made on-site.
“Banh Xeo” is a savory crepe stuffed with pork, prawns, and bean sprouts made with coconut flour.
“Bun Rieu” is a crab soup infused with tomatoes. This one is topped with “oc”, freshwater snails.
“Bánh Tran Nuong” is a Vietnamese versión of a pizza, made with toasted rice paper as the base.
My favorite breakfast is “bo ne,” meaning spitting beef, since the meal is served on a hot plate.
Got coffee? In addition to Vietnamese “ca phe,” you can order coconut coffee at Okkio Cafe.
“Bánh Khot” are crispy bite-sized pancakes. M.O.M Cooking Class is my favorite cooking school.
The Lunch Lady was made famous by Anthony Bourdain. They have a different soup item every lunch.
“Tra Da,” or iced tea, is a non-sweetened free drink that accompanies most street food meals.
“Bun Thit Nuong” is a dry noodle bowl served with grilled pork, pickled vegetables, and fried rolls.
This 40-yr-old cart near Le Van Tam Park serves “Goi du du,” a spicy papaya salad with beef jerky.
Saigon has the world’s largest Chinatown. “Bot Chien” are rice cakes cooked in eggs and soy sauce.
