Baked Italian Turkey Meatballs
Baked Italian Turkey Meatballs are full of flavor, fork tender, and pair perfectly with your favorite pasta sauce.
Gather and prep your ingredients.
Sauté 1/4 cup chopped onion over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
Add 3/4 cup minced mushrooms, 1 cup grated zucchini, and 1/2 cup cauliflower rice. Cook 5 more minutes.
Add 2 minced garlic cloves, and cook 2 more minutes. Remove from heat, and set aside.
Add 1 pound ground turkey, 1 TBL Cantanzaro herbs, 1/2 TSP salt, and 1/2 TSP pepper to a large bowl.
Add 1 egg, 1/2 cup almond meal, and 1 TBL Worcestershire sauce (optional) to the bowl and mix ingredients together.
Fold in the cooked veggies, and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Colder meat is easier to form into balls.
Shape the meat mixture into 16 equal sized balls, and place on a prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes in a preheated 400F oven. Remove from oven, turn meatballs over, and bake for 10 more minutes. Check for internal temp of 165F.
Serve with your favorite pasta and sauce, or over wilted greens, or as a meatball sub.
