Buckwheat Hemp Bread (GF/V)
Same recipe as my GF vegan bread machine loaf the only difference is the baking method.
Using homemade hemp milk is best for this GF bread recipe.
This is a great beginner yeasted GF vegan bread recipe!
You can mix the first few ingredients (see recipe) directly in the large mixing bowl or in a separate bowl. Mix and give it 5-10 minutes to gel.
Give your sifted dry ingredients a quick mix. It’s ok if your gel mixture is already underneath.
If your gel mixture is in a separate bowl you can add it now with 1 cup of the hemp milk and mix.
Add the remaining 1/4 cup of hemp milk (if needed) and continue mixing until well incorporated. Cover and rise in a warm area for 2 hours.
After 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Line your bread pan with unbleached parchment paper and transfer dough to the pan.
Sprinkling seeds is optional.
You can bake the same dough recipe in a bread machine too!
Bake for 55-60 minutes on the middle oven rack. It can take longer (70 minutes) in the bread machine.
The bread is ready when the top is golden brown and hard when tapped with a finger.
If baked in the bread machine the colour might be lighter and the crust softer.
Remove the loaf from the bread pan and cool on a wire rack.
Let your bread cool completely before slicing!
The oven-baked version gets a crispier crust and the inside crumb is very nice and soft.
The bread machine loaf is softer on the outside and has a very similar inside crumb texture.
The end slice with a yummy buttery spread is the best. Enjoy!
