Remove the screws holding the top to the legs.

Give everything a good wash.

Apply a generous coat of deglosser/liquid sander to all finished surfaces.

Wipe down then paint all surfaces with two primer coats and three lacquer coats.

Add distressed areas with an electric sander and seal with polyurethane.
