Classic French Apple Cake
Melt butter and set aside to cool.

Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

Whisk together sugar and eggs.

Add vanilla extract and rum.

Add half of the melted butter and whisk.

Add half of the dry ingredients and whisk.

Add the rest of the butter and the dry ingredients. Mix until incorporated.

Peel 2 large baking apples.

Cut apples in small cubes.

Fold the apples into the batter.

Transfer the batter into a cake pan, lined with parchment paper.

Spread the batter and sprinkle with sugar.
