Clay Ring Wall Art Hanging
See how I used clay rings for a fun art piece in my living room!
Supplies : Loads of polymer clay, string, Square Wooden Dowel, Wooden Beads + Hot Glue
Warm the clay in your hand and roll into a snake shape.
1
Form your clay into organic clay oval ring shapes.
2
Place rings on parchment paper and bake in your oven per your clay directions.
3
Create roughly 100 clay rings for a 3’x4’ art piece.
4
Using an electric drill and 5/32” drill bit add holes for where your clay strands will hang.
5
Sand down any rough spots on your square wooden dowel.
6
Place tape on a poster board to delineate your strings and put your rings on the tape lines.
7
This ensures that each ring looks organically layered but also will be secured to a string.
Starting at the bottom, slowly tie your rings together with string.
8
String through the holes in your wood and bead and tie off. Add hot glue for extra strength.
9
Hang your art piece on the wall.
10
Sit back and enjoy your new wall hanging!
