Diagonal Blending Pattern For Lettering
Start out by lettering a grey base of your chosen word / phrase
Choose some colours and make sure that they blend with the ones directly before and after
Use a ruler to draw a diagonal line across your lettering from the top to bottom "corner"
Draw perpendicular lines to create 10 blending strips, 2 for each colour
Label the colours you want to use around the outside to keep track
Remove the caps from your markers and lay them out on a paper tower
Use the waterbrush to pick up some colour directly from the brushmarker tip
Paint onto the lettering baselayer, blending colours together as you go
Pick up more colours
Continue painting into the correct region for that colour
First section of 5 blending strips!
Continue blending, changing colours at the specific transition lines
Erase all the pencil lines
Add details with a white gelly roll pen
Add shadow with a light grey brush pen
Completely the quote, making use of the empty space between words. Done!
