Measure your mattress and cut a piece of plywood to size.
1
Use a circular saw to cut excess into 3 equal pieces for support for the underside of the bed.
2
Apply an even layer of wood glue before attaching the support to the underside of the bed.
3
Clamp the support into place and attach using 1 1/4” screws and repeat process on the other side.
4
Cut 2 smaller supports to fit between the 2 lengthwise supports. Then glue and screw into place.
5
Use orbital sander to make sure all edges are flush. Then hand sand to round the edges.

Cut the remaining plywood the same width as the bed to make a headboard. Then sand.
7
Flip the bed and sand edges on that side as well.
8
Coat the entire bed in Polycrylic.
9
Drill 5 evenly spaced holes in a shelf bracket.
10
