Make your molds for your candles out of water bottles.
1
Use a utility knife to cut the tops off. Then use a tapered plastic bottle to make a funnel.
2
Start by mixing a batch of quikrete 5000 to a consistency of oatmeal.
3
Use the funnel to add the concrete to the bottom of the bottles. Tap & shake to get concrete settled
4
Use chopsticks to press candle wick into the wet concrete.
5
Mix white quikrete countertop mix.
6
Experiment with gold powder, pouring onto the damp concrete and spread around with a chopstick.
7
For a mountain range aesthetic, push a chopstick down into the concrete to create a new look.
8
Melt soy based wax flakes in a makeshift double burner on your stove.
9
Add a scent to the wax for a nice smell.
10
Pour hot wax on top of concrete. Wait 48 hrs until concrete is dry.
11
Remove bottles by cutting the bottom of the bottle and peel off piece by piece.
12
Heat the wax to let the gold powder melt into the wax for a cool gold liquid look.
13
Experiment with 2 toned, sculpted, gold powder, one layer concrete and wax.
