DIY Leather Daybed
Cut two sheets of plywood to measurements with circular saw
1
Make sure plywood is free from sawhorses before cutting
2
Clamp down material to help make straight cuts
3
For cross cuts, move over, clamp in place and make cut
4
Glue both plywood sheets together for added strength
5
Screws can be used to speed up the build
6
If you have the time to wait for glue to cure screws are not necessary
7
For the cushion I’ll be using Kaizen foam with an exacto knife. Score for clean cuts
8
Add 3/4” strips on the longer side of the cushion
9
Spray glue all pieces together. Start with the base and then glue the strips
10
Use double stick tape to adhere the two pieces (foam and plywood) together
11
Place cushion over leather and add 5” all over. This gives enough to fold over cushion and staple
12
Use tape to help even out before stapling the leather on
13
Measure placement of hairpin legs. Use pen to mark screw holes on plywood. Pre-drill holes
14
Screw in hair pin legs
