Make sure to submerge and let sit for 5 minutes

Scoop your masa in the center of husk. Spread evenly making sure to avoid the sides.

Masa should be spread only in the center

Add about two tablespoons of your filling. Try to keep ingredients in the center of your corn husk.

Carefully fold your tamales like a book. In thirds. First fold.

Third fold is the long part of the husk up.

Now you are ready to place in your pot. Always place tamales open side up.

Add enough water to place your steamer on top.

Fill your steamer with enough tamales to allow little space for movement and they are all upright.

Cover your pot tightly with foil.

Then add your lid and cover securely. Steam for 45 minutes on medium-high.
