Easy Red Velvet Sugar Cookies
Add melted butter to a mixing bowl.

Add granulated sugar and confectioners’ sugar.

Stir until well combined.

Add red food coloring {gel works best}, egg yolks and vanilla extract.

Stir until all ingredients are well combined.

Add all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and kosher salt.

Give the dry ingredients a little toss on top, then stir the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined.

Grab a baking pan prepared with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, granulated sugar and a two tablespoon cookie scoop.

Scoop two tablespoons of dough and roll it into a ball. Roll dough in the granulated sugar, roll in your hands again and then a second time in sugar

Continue scooping and double rolling in the granulated sugar and place on the baking sheet 2 inches apart.

Bake the cookies for 8 minutes. Then pull them out of the oven and quickly press down on the tops with a flat bottom cup. Bake 1-2 minutes more.

Cookies can cool completely on the baking sheet or move to a wire cooling rack after 5 minutes.
