Have you ever wondered how to make this Chinese restaurant classic at home? Here we go!
1
Start by slicing some habanero chili. We will keep the seeds & add them to a teabag to steep...
2
... in some chicken broth, scallion, & dried lily buds. this is our flavorful base!
3
I like carrots in my soup as well, but this recipe is very flexible!
4
Next, we will slice some shiitake mushrooms and chicken breast.
5
Add to a heated pan with Soy sauce and vegetable oil. Sauté until just cooked.
6
Remove the teabag & the scallions. Add the chicken & mushrooms to the hot stock with the carrots.
7
Next, add some sesame oil, white pepper, black vinegar & Chinese cooking wine. Add a cornstarch mix.
8
Stir to combine. Now, gently scramble 1 egg in a separate bowl & pour into the soup while stirring.
9
Garnish with fresh scallions. This soup can be made with pork or firm tofu as well!
10
Hot, sour, & completely delicious! Serve with my Kung-Pao Chicken or Ginger Beef Recipes!
