How To Decorate A Drip Cake
Start by baking your favorite cake flavor in two 9” cake pans
1
My favorite is triple chocolate!
2
After removing your cakes from the oven, make sure they cool completely before decorating
3
Once cooled, place one cake layer down on a drum and add desired filling (I used Nutella mousse)
4
Place the second cake layer on top. Make sure to cut off the cake top to make it a level surface
5
Ice a thin crumb coat with vanilla buttercream
6
Mix together your desired frosting color by adding food coloring to vanilla buttercream
7
Fill a pastry bag with the colored buttercream
8
Pipe the buttercream onto the sides and top of the cake
9
Smooth out the buttercream using a plastic or metal scrapper
10
Continue to smooth the outside until it is even
11
Slowly melt a bowl of white chocolate. Then, pour into a pastry bag
12
Evenly squeeze out the white chocolate all around the top of cake
13
Mix edible gold dust and a little bit of alcohol to make a “paint”
14
Once the chocolate is hard, use a paintbrush to paint on the edible gold
15
Mix together your favorite sprinkles to make a colorful assortment
16
Add sprinkles to the bottom border of the cake
17
TIP: use a spatula to help the sprinkles stick and put a container underneath to catch the runaways
18
Add sprinkles to the top border as well
