How To Embroider The Back Stitch For Beginners
Come up from the back of your fabric.
1
Move one stitch length forward and stitch back down.
2
Skip one stitch length forward and come up from the back.
3
Now stitch backwards, meeting where your previous stitch ended.
4
Here’s one stitch all the way through.
5
Continue this stitch to create a nice solid line, trying to keep stitch length even.
6
Corners are very easy, just make sure your stitches end and begin right on the corner.
7
For a straight line stitches can be any length you want.
8
For curved lines smaller stitches will help keep the curves smooth.
9
This stitch is perfect for outlining shapes or creating lettering & details. Have fun!
