Soak cherries in amaretto and sugar for 24 to 48 hours.

Strain juices into Dutch oven, reserving cherries for later. Add pectin to juices.

Add cherries. Cook until cherries break down and mixture thickens.

Divide jam into canning jars. Wipe rims and threads.

Seal the jars, and process in boiling water for 5 minutes.

Let sit for 24 hours. Refrigerate any jars that didn't seal and use those first.
