How To Sew Your Sequin Gin Bottle
This is how to split your floss. You want to have it in two lots of 3 strands
1
Thread your needle, this is how I tie a knot
2
Start at the top of the diamond and bring your needle up.
3
Take a small stitch and come up halfway. This is stem stitch
4
When you get to the corner you should take your stitch away and go back to the corner.
5
If you finish your thread, weave it through the stitches on the back and knot
6
Using stem stitch, but much smaller stitches follow the outline of the letters
7
Using the corner technique on the angles of the N
8
Repeat on the inner line with the gold floss
9
Use the same corner technique to get a sharp corner.
10
Now sequins!! Starting with the green
11
Using the bottom edge as a guide place your first sequin in the corner.
12
Keep building row by row.
13
When you get to the bottom corner of the diamond make sure your sequin lines up.
14
To tie off, make a series of small stitches in the same places and knot.
15
Fill each side of the diamond separately
16
There will be a small gap on each of the side points.
17
So tie off before starting the next side.
18
Start the top half of the bottle. You are going to follow the black outline.
19
Following the outline, placing the bottom of each sequin against the black line.
20
Fill up each side until you are in line with the top sequin of your point.
21
Then go back to rows until you get to the printed line
22
Line the centre holes of your gold sequins to be on top of the printed line
23
You should get 4 sequins across and 4 rows up.
24
Now for the back
26
Thread your needle with the white thread. Double and knot.
27
Bring it up through the top piece so the knot sits inside. Then bring around to the back and through
28
Up through both, pull until you have a small loop and thread your needle through the loop and pull
29
Blanket stitching all around adding the hanging loop at the top and not stitching up the base.
30
Stitch around until you have only the bottom open
31
Push the stuffing in, if you need extra help use a pencil/brush anything to poke it!
32
Finish off the blanket stitching and knot
33
Pull your needle through the back of the piece and snip.
34
Ta dah! You're done
