How To Ski In Salt Lake City On A Budget
If you plan on taking multiple ski trips buy an Ikon Pass.
1
Ikon gives you access to 40+ mountains in the US and beyond.
We hit Solitude, Brighton, Alta, and Snowbird and never had to visit a ticket window.
Stay at the base of the mountain, near SLC, instead of in the canyons. We stayed at Hampton Inn SLC Cottonwood.
2
Rooms were clean and there was a temporary bus stop right out the front door.
On that note - take the bus instead of renting a car. There is limited parking at the resorts and it isn’t free.
3
The bus is free if you have an Ikon Pass or $4.50 one way.
Buy food that you can share or better yet - pack your own.
4
You can also buy an appetizer and split an entree.
Limit alcohol purchases at the resorts. We had to make an exception for the Alta Bomb (PBR and shot of espresso).
5
Purchase your rentals off-mountain! Wasatch Ski & Snowboard Rental has great prices.
