How To Spend 4-5 Days In The Rocky Mountain NP, CO
RMNP is divided into two areas - Estes Park and Grand Lake. Most of the hiking is in Estes Park
Drive the Trail Ridge Road which links the east and west sides of the park. It’s very windy and scenic so can take half a day
Bear Lake is the starting point for many hikes in Estes Park and is an easy walk from the car park
Hike to Sky Pond. This hike takes you past a few alpine lakes and stunning scenery everywhere
Distance: 9 miles return. Difficulty: hard
The hike to Mills Lake is another RMNP favourite
Distance: 5.6 miles return. Difficulty: moderate
Another stunning and easy hike is to Emerald Lake where you also pass Dream Lake
Distance: 3.5 miles return. Difficulty: easy
Take the time to wildlife watch as RMNP is known for elk (use your zoom and keep your distance)
Spend an afternoon wandering around the cute gateway town of Grand Lake
While in Grand Lake stop by Sagebrush BBQ & Grill for a tasty dinner
