Salted caramel starts with 1 cup granulated sugar

Over medium heat stir constantly, you will see clumps start to form.

Keep going, this part takes a little while. You want it to melt completely and turn an amber brown.

Finally starting to look right 😁

This is what you want it to look like. Next we add 6 tbsp room temp salted butter 🧈

Add that butter and continue to stir so that it all incorporates smoothly

If you see sugar clump or butter separate then remove from heat and whisk together until smooth.

Slowly drizzle in 1/2 cup heavy cream, keep stirring. It will rise up slightly in pot. Let boil 1 m

Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp of salt.

Let cool and enjoy. I think some apples 🍏 are calling my name.
