Painting With Silk All In One Paint On Furniture
This little table was painted in a shiny old paint. It was chipping and worn. I sanded, cleaned with Pristine Clean then applied Slick Stick.
After waiting 24 hours for the Slick Stick to dry I was ready for paint. Using Slick Stick ensures my paint will adhere well. Let’s add some WoodUBend
WoodUBend mouldings can be used to dress up a piece. They are bendable and paintable. Heat, apply glue and adhere. Heat again after application.
This is WoodUBend # 1374 - ready for paint!
Silk All In One paint is applied with a smooth, dry, synthetic brush. It contains a built in primer and topcoat. Color used - Tide Pool.
Apply one even coat of Silk paint in Tide Pool.
Let’s apply some decoupage paper. This is called Pallet Wood Patten. Cut to size and apply with Satin Clear Coat to the drawer sides.
Let’s add the second coat. I added Oyster with a separate brush to lighten the middle. Blend while wet.
See the lighter Oyster color? It’s a great blend with Tide Pool.
This is Lace transfer. Inside the tube are four sheets. Peel off the backing and apply to the side. Use a knife to trim the edges.
Using the enclosed tool, burnish the transfer down onto the furniture. This is a easy process! Repeat on the opposite side.
Add wax in Clear to protect your transfer. You could also use Extra Coat to seal the transfer.
Apply Grunge Grey wax with the French Tip brush to the corners and WoodUBend. Wipe back the wax to desired effect. Install hardware.
