Quick And Easy Fresh Tomato Marinara Sauce
Heat olive oil in large pan over med heat and add shallot, and garlic and cook until translucent 2-3 min
Add chili flakes if using , salt and pepper along with the chopped fresh tomatoes
Simmer stirring often 20-25 min until tomatoes have almost all broken down
Stir in the honey chopped fresh basil and parsley whole stems- simmer another 10 min
Remove parsley stems
And at this point you can serve as is or I like to use my immersion blender for a smoother sauce- can also transfer to food processor or blender
Once you have it the consistency you like you can serve - or if you prefer it more reduced then simmer until it’s reduced to your liking
This recipe uses fresh tomatoes but it can also be made with good quality canned ones too - details in recipe
Use in pasta, serve as a dipping sauce, or the perfect replacement for jarred sauces in any of your recipes
