Repurpose An Old Chair Into A Planter
Remove seat from an old chair. If you don’t have one, you can find one at a thrift store, flea market, or garage sale for next to nothing.
1
Purchase coco fiber hanging basket liner. Liner size should fit the chair seat opening (my liner was 16”).
2
Staple liner to inside of chair with plenty of staples.
3
Here’s how it looked after stapling the liner to the chair.
Add soil (I used succulent soil since since I was planting succulents).
4
Support underside of liner with 3 strands of light-duty chains (2 running corner to corner and 1 across the middle).
5
Wrap chain around the frame and link back onto itself. Run the chain under the liner and hook it on the other side. Repeat for other 2 chains.
Splitting and closing the chain links was easier with two pairs of pliers.
Add plants to the soil (I planted a variety of succulents).
6
Place your chair planter on your patio or in your garden. Note: water will drain out the bottom of the liner.
