Salted Caramel Sauce
Whisk together 1/4 cup water, 1 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp kosher salt. Dissolve sugar and bring to a boil.

Stop stirring or the sugar may crystalize. Occasionally swirl the pan and watch for the sugar to begin darkening.

When sugar turns a deep amber color, whisk in 1/2 cup butter until melted.

Turn off heat and whisk in 1/4 cup heavy cream until smooth.

Pour into a mason jar and store in the refrigerator.
