What you'll need
1/2 yard bodice fabric and 1.5 yards skirt fabric
Fabric
10-12”
1” Elastic

Take your measurements! I’m using a 5” bodice and 25” skirts.

Cut a 2” strip for the straps and a 5” strip for the bodice. I prefer to use a rotary cutter.

Cut your 5” strip in half (22” long). Fold the other half in half again and round the edges (11”)

To make straps, fold the 2” strip in half to find the middle. Fold the top and bottom in and sew.

Pin your straps in place in between the bodice pieces (right sides together!). Flip, and topstich!

Cut two lengths of your skirt length. My skirt is 25” long so I cut two 25” pieces.

Gathering hack! Place bobbin in without tension, top tension at highest, stitch length at longest.

Match the gathered skirt length to the bodice and back piece and pin in place.

Thread the elastic through the back using a safety pin. I used 11” of elastic. Sew ends in place.

Sew up the sides right sides together and hem the bottom!
