Snayniyeh- Sweet Wheat & Nut Porridge
You will need...

16 oz. bag of whole wheat (presoaked overnight) 1.5 cups sugar

1/2 cup pistachios 1/3 cup almonds 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/3 cup pine nuts 1/4 cup black seed 1 tbsp ground anise

Add presoaked wheat into a pot & cover to top with hot water & let boil.

Add water to almonds, pine nuts, black seed, & pistachios. Let soak until time to use (1 hour)

Once it starts to boil, lower heat & cover. Simmer for about 1 hour until grains soften

After an hour, strain nuts completely

Wheat grains should be soft by now. If not keep a little longer

Turn off heat & add 90% to food processor. Set the rest aside for later

Blend for 2 minutes. Stopping every 15 seconds to air out heat

Once it reaches an oatmeal like consistency, put back into pot with the 10%

On high heat, add just enough hot water to cover

Stir & let boil

Once it begins to boil, lower heat to medium

Stir in sugar & allow to boil

Stir in nuts & cook for 10 minutes on low heat

Pour into small cups or bowls

Let cool & serve! Traditionally served in celebration of babies getting their first tooth!
