The Basics of Ribbon Lettering
Calligraphy VS Ribbon lettering: Both upstrokes and downstrokes can be THICK
1
Use arrows to help indicate the direction of your upstrokes and downstrokes.
2
Outline the downstrokes first, following the curve of the ribbon.
3
Colour in the downstrokes to differentiate the front and back sides of the ribbon.
4
Practice ribbon lettering the basic strokes first before moving on to the alphabet.
5
That's all for the basic strokes!
