There’s No Place On Earth Like The Faroe Islands!
A self-governing archipelago, part of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Faroe Islands consist of 18 rocky, volcanic islands between Iceland and Norway.
Hikers and bird-watchers are drawn to the islands’ mountains, valleys, grassy heathland and steep coastal cliffs that harbour thousands of seabirds!
It is known as Europe’s best kept secret for a reason 😉 Legend has it that waterfalls here are home to four supernatural forces.
As well as very cute and hospitable puffins that are used to people feeding and petting them!
During winter, splendid snowy mountains are perfect for skiing and snowboarding. Valleys that are green during summer are covered in white blankets.
The vast ocean is the backdrop to any location, with no place in the Faroe Islands distanced more than 5 kilometres from the North Atlantic Ocean.
And last but not the least, it hosts the best display of Northern Lights in the entire world. Locals are so used to them they barely notice!
The best time to visit the Islands for Northern Lights is between late October and early Feb. Don’t forget to put the Faroes on your bucket list! 😍
