Gather Ingredients

You need 1 cup of 80 proof Vodka for every 6 vanilla beans
Cut the vanilla bean down the center. Leave a bit intact at the ends.

Cut the beans so they are covered in Vodka or bend them down under the liquid.

Pour the Vodka over the vanilla beans

Put the lid tightly on the jar and give the jar a good shake.

Add a lable with the date. Place in a cool, dark place. Shake the jar once a week.

The vanilla will be ready to use in 2 months. (This is 3 days old)
