3 Ways To Stop Overthinking In It’s Tracks
I am certainly not perfect and I gave up trying to be a long time ago, but there is one thing that creeps back into my life every once in a while.
It’s OVERTHINKING. When this happens I have 3 tactics to put into place immediately to stop the overthinking and get on to bigger and better things.
I implement Mel Robbin’s 5 Second Rule. I stop my overthinking in it’s track by counting backwards from 5. (5,4,3,2,1)
I ask myself, will this really matter in 5 years? Usually the answer is no.
I go back to my original gut feeling and ask myself if that feels better than ALL the decisions and choices I’ve been overthinking since then.
So the next time you start to overthink something, try one of these methods and see if you can stop overthinking in it’s tracks.
Move on to those decisions that are actually important and kick the smaller ones out the door.
