Your breathing patterns regulate your emotion
Hello 👋🏼 , I’m Jo Lau
Your emotions affect your breathing. But did you know that your breathing pattern regulates emotions
When relaxed, you use primary breathing muscles. In stress-mode, you use accessory breathing muscles
If your body is in constant stress, you create the habit of using your accessory breathing muscles.
In contrast, relaxed breathing tells the brain to activate the “rest & digest” nervous system.
If you get into the habit “stressed” breathing, your body will constantly be in “flight/fight” mode.
By understanding this, you can see how your breathing patterns can actually regulate your emotions!
Good news is that you can regulate your emotions better through changing your breathing patterns!
